Injustice.

Truth be told, much of my internship centered around corruption. Kenya is still a very tribal country and the ethnic battles are terrible beyond words.

I saw corruption at its peak and today it's hard to joyfully bring in the new year, knowing that people are being shot within a mile radius of where I lived and that the streets I walked and enjoyed everyday are now deserted only occupied and tightly controlled by riot police.

When I left Kenya there was talk of civil war, as many anticipated a rigged election, still hoping for a just and orderly election, but sure enough, the Kikuyu's win again.

Please pray for peace in Kenya and a coming clean that could eliminate corruption at last. Corruption is one of the most painful, discouraging and devastating lessons I've had to learn. We need strength to maintain hope in justice and peace.

Hey there Justine,
It's a wicked world indeed. However, I think I remember our birthdays being very nearly the same day, so happy birthday week at least and I hope you see some beauty on your day
